We design a wide variety of integrated electronic systems including hardware
and software (see www.technosci.com for some examples). The current portfolio
of projects includes everything from research on the next generation of
SARSAT to firefighter personal locator/communicators. Many projects are
focused on the maritime environment and make use of systems, equipment
and technology (HF-ALE, TDMA, SATCOM, data networks, ECDIS, VTS, etc)
that Coast Guard and Navy veterans are familiar with. HF data communications
expertise is especially useful. General attributes we are looking for:
- Possess excellent troubleshooting skills (hardware and systems)
- Knowledgeable in the use of debugging tools (scope, meters, probes,
ect)
- Systematic in execution by following standards and safety guidelines
- Possess basic knowledge of electronic systems (able to read schematics)
- Ability to assemble/disassemble systems
- Fabrication abilities using common shop tools and materials (power and
hand tools)
- Electronics fabrication (soldering, wire wrap, pc board fabrication,
cable assemblies, etc)
- Ability to properly document and communicate work and progress
- Ability to perform in teams and independently and without excessive
supervision
Must be US Citizen or permanent resident.
Ability and willingness to travel and do remote installs and troubleshooting;
operational expertise with the systems; and current security clearance
are also highly desirable.
