Engineer – Communications - Beltsville, MD 4/04/2008

Duties and Responsibilities: Integrate, configure, and test communications systems for surveillance systems. Maintain, update, and add support for new hardware and software. Work with development team to test and add new communications interfaces to current product. Travel internationally to support installation of microwave, VSAT, and HF radio communications systems. Interface with sub-contractors and customers.

Requirements: Strong Linux networking and serial I/O skills. Comfortable with both iptables and a soldering iron. Good writing and communications skills.Other desired skills include:


• WiMax or microwave communications experience.
• HF radio knowledge (professional or ham).
• C++, Perl, or other scripting language.
• Antenna cable assembly and testing skills. .

Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree in engineering or related experience.


Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in office and lab environment, work at computer terminal, lift and carry up to 75 pounds, occasional stooping, kneeling, walking, climbing heights, and crawling.


Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel up to 35% time both domestic and internationally.
