Position Description: Techno-Sciences Inc. (TSi) seeks a professional, ambitious, and self-motivated individual to aid in the transition of cutting-edge technologies to the commercial and military market. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with “intelligent” systems using advanced actuators and sensors such as piezoelectrics, magnetorheological (MR) fluids, etc., strong analysis capability, as well as experience in mechanical design. The candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing intelligent systems and aid in developing these systems into a commercial and/or military product. Direct experience in MR damper design and their application, suspension design, and shock and vibration control a plus. Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills required. The candidate must be able to interact well within a project team as well as with current and potential customers.

Requirements:

• Education: B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Experience: 0-5 years experience (direct experience in MR damper design, semi- active control, shock and vibration mitigation design, and/or suspension system design preferred)
• Software: Matlab, Simulink, 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred), FEM software (ANSYS, NASTRAN, COMsol), Microsoft office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel)
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or permanent residence (green card) required
• Travel: The candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
• Physical: Must be able to work in office and lab environment, work at computer terminal, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, occasional stooping, kneeling, walking, climbing heights, and crawling.
