Dr. Lee D. Davisson - Founder of TSi Dr. Davisson, the original founder of Techno-Sciences, Inc., is a pioneer in COSPAS-SARSAT technology. Dr. Davisson has worked closely since the mid-1980s with NASA personnel in a sequence of projects that led to the SARSAT system in service today. Dr. Davisson led TSi's technical development of its Mission Control Center , its LEO and GEO local user terminals, and most recently, the design effort of TSi's GEOLUT for the European MSG geostationary satellite. Dr. Davisson is a graduate of Princeton University (1958) and completed his MSEE and PhD at UCLA in 1961 and 1964 respectively. Dr. Davisson founded TSi in 1975 and served as its President until 1996. He has been a professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland since 1976 (Chairman 1980 – 1985 and Emeritus 1992 – present). Dr. Davisson has extensive experience in the areas of communication theory, information theory, signal processing, detection and estimation theory, signal classification, data compression, adaptive nonparametric techniques, FFT-based techniques and processing algorithms, and application of computers, digital signal processor and array processors to signal processing and communications. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications and has won numerous honors and rewards in his field. Dr. Davisson continues to work on engineering design and software for TSi's SARSAT product family. |
