Coastal Surveillance Station installed in Indonesia The TSi Trident Team working on the Integrated Maritime Surveillance System for the Indonesian Navy has tamed a small section of jungle in Sumatra and deployed systems to the piracy prone Malacca Strait! In the past six months, 7 Indonesian Navy ships have been equipped with the Trident Voyage Ship Log and Tracking System (TVSLTS), one Coastal Surveillance Station has been built and tested in Bengkalis, Indonesia and a Network Operating Center has been installed at Navy Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the next four months, three more ships will be equipped with the TVSLST and additional communications and sensor equipment and one more Coastal Surveillance Station will be built in Sinaboi. The entire system including radars, mobile and base station automatic identification systems, long range night vision cameras, HF-ALE communications and VSAT-VPN communications will then be integrated to feed a common operating picture. This will provide a revolutionary new capability for the Indonesian Navy in their fight against piracy, terrorism, illegal logging and other threats to Indonesia.
