Techno-Sciences, Inc. has broad expertise in the area of wireless communications systems ranging from custom satellite based communication systems such as our SARSAT search and rescue Ground Stations and our maritime Vessel Information System to custom commercial wireless networked data collection and reporting.

TSi has also worked at the level of protocol design and applications of wireless communications technology with our partner IIT Aerospace as described briefly below:

• In a contract for DARPA, we developed network software that allows radios using direct-sequence spread spectrum signaling to operate as nomadic routers and to be organized into a mobile packet radio network that can dynamically adapt to battlefield conditions.

• Also for DARPA, we developed adaptive protocols at the physical, link, and intranetwork layer for use in the ITT Handheld Multimedia Terminal (HMT). The adaptive protocols are used to establish links and routes as a function of link quality, the underlying signal type, the communications application, and the requested quality-of-service.

• In a contract for Air Force Rome Labs, we developed new communication protocols, waveforms and source compression algorithms that provide integrated voice and data communications in combat net radio systems while greatly increasing the network information capacity and communication range.
