NOAA’s Systems Support Equipment, developed by Techno-Sciences and delivered to NOAA in October 1992, is a specially designed LUT which is responsible for monitoring all fourteen (14) LUTs in the United States ground segment.

When not deployed in test or diagnostics functions, the SSE functions as a normal LUT in the US SARSAT system.

The SSE illustrates TSi's Second Generation LUT design. Note the use of discrete computers for parallel processing of the three beacon bands.
