Algeria TSi was awarded a contract by the Algerian Aviation Civil Defense Force in January 1995 for the installation of a Local User Terminal in Ouargla and a Mission Control Center in Algiers. The system was installed in June 1995 and the commissioning reports were submitted to the COSPAS-SARSAT Joint Committee. In December 2003 TSi was awarded a contract to upgrade all elements of the Algerian SARSAT system. A new LEOLUT and MCC will be installed in Algiers, and a new GEOLUT for the European MeteoSAT Second Generation Satellite will be added to the system. The system is scheduled for installation in the first quarter of 2004.
