TSi's first LUT, Bangalore, 1989. the first LUT to be commissioned.

 

India

In 1988 the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), selected Techno-Sciences to deliver and commission two LUTs and an MCC to India. One LUT was installed at the ISRO headquarters in Bangalore. The second LUT was installed in Northern India at Lucknow. India's LUT/MCC system is now the center for international COSPAS-SARSAT Search and Rescue activities in the Indian basin. The LUT in Bangalore was the world's first fully commissioned Local User Terminal.
