TSi created the world's most utilized scheduling tool for Otis Elevator. Otis NAO performs preventive maintenance and repairs on about 100,000 elevators in North America. Each elevator has many procedures that must be done on it regularly - the exact intervals depend on usage and calendar time. The Automatic OMMS™ software built by TSi computes the optimal maintenance schedule for mechanics to service the elevators, taking into account maintenance and repair requirments, groupings of like tasks and units, and many other factors while minimizing travel and non-work time. The solution technology is a combination of constraint based programming and optimization algorithms. Automated OMMS™ includes database management tools and a unique parallel processing implementation of the computational algorithms. Every day Automated OMMS™ schedules the work (with a 30-day forcast) of 1500 mechanics on 100,000 elevators. The software system is built using C++ and specialized libraries for constraint programming from ILOG SA
